Risa, being Japanese, was on hand to explain all sorts of Shrine etiquette to us..including getting our fortunes...which apparently, you shake the box of chopsticks, and pull one out, read the number, and then select the correct drawer. In Tokyo at least...the fortunes are also in English! It was great, because we all got good fortunes! If you don't, you are supposed to wrap them to a tree, or somewhere, where they are taken care of by the gods!
Always good fun!
