The Entrance to Asakasa

By the time we got over to Asakusa, the very famous shrine in northern Tokyo, it was already getting dark. The good news is, it is even prettier after dark. The famous, huge, red lantern is one of the most popular tourist sights in Japan, and we were very lucky to get there when it wasn't very busy! The entrance is great and very imposing! I really was glad to get back here, as I remembered it from the last time I visited! Beyond the big lantern, is a massive shrine, but to get there, you have to walk down this long walkway, full of shops and pretty gifts!
