I had no clue what to expect from the DEVDAN show, apart from that it was kind of Cirque de Solei like...which I haven`t seen since 2000. I was hoping for some upbeat Balinese dancing too. We arrived, at this huge theatre, which was purpose built for the show. Beautiful gold signs, and huge flaming torches were everywhere. It was pretty cool. We enjoyed taking some crazy photos in front of the sign, Dustin very kindly took photos of us all being idiots. And right before we went in, we ran into the manager, who thought Dustin was married to Jessica and then proceeded to give us great upgraded seats. We really enjoyed the show, which was a combination of Balinese dancing, as well as Indonesian hisory. It was based along 2 kids (who had terrible voiceovers) finding a treasure chest, and each piece transporting them to a different time period and place in Indonesian history. Althought all the island that make up Indonesia are one country, they have all developed different traditions and cultures, and you can really tell from the different styles of dancing. I especially liked when they mixed up some poppy Holly Valance with some Balinese dancing! There were acrobats, and ribbon dancers, but most of all, it really made me want to learn to dance like that!
