First night Festival!
wont lie, my first day in Hagi was a whirlwind of paperwork, meeting people, getting a bank account, a new apartement and the such like. None of us had Japanese cell phones and we all live in different parts of the town. I could hear noise all evening, so I went out to find the other JETs. There was a massive summer festival going on, complete with a portable shrine, which about 60 men pull in bursts around the city. And on the shrine are these beautiful women doing traditional Japanese dancing! It was so much fun, and the town was out in force! Festivals in Japan are famous for the food stalls, and they certainly were amazing! It was a great way to start out my new life in Hagi!
