Emily really wanted to go to the Jagalici Fish Market, apparently the largest in the world. We went in the evening, so it wasn't very busy. But it was very interesting, to see all the octopuses and little squid and big fish. It was very cool, but in not such a fun part of town, so we didn't stay long, nor did we eat any of the fishies!
On an even higher mountain, there is this imposing War Memorial for the dead who fought in the brutal war. It was a very sad place, but as the sun was setting, it was a beautiful place. A place where people could remember and learn about the war.
I really loved Busan. Becuase we were up on the top of the mountain you could see the whole city. It seemed to be built like Seoul, in between the mountains, but instead, Busan has beaches, and a lot of building and shipping industry in the port. It's really lovely and we were the only ones there, to enjoy the view.
After Seoul, we headed on the KTX, or the Korean Bullet Train to Busan. It is the big city down in the lower part of the country, actually very near to Yamaguchi! We went and decided what we wanted to do (over a smoothie) and decided to head up the mountain to Democracy Park. It was kind of like Palma, with lots of stairs up extremely steep hills. We eventually made it, and found this very cool garden, full of crazy scultpures!
I became really addicted to Smoothie King while in Korea. I convinced Emily to have one for breakfast, and then we had one for a snack and so on. If you go before 11am, you can have all sorts of things added, like things for energy, or collagen (because the Koreans are obsessed!) or protein powder or something! I wish I could recreate them at home!
Seoul, and Korea in general seems to have a lot of the largest, tallest, highest places. On the observation floor of the Seoul Tower there is this letterbox, which is the highest one in the world! It seems pretty crazy, but you can write a letter to someone and buy a specific stamp, and send it so someone you love! How cool!
We had a beautiful clear night to look over the city of Seoul. Because it was on the hill, it was so nice to see all over the city. For some reason, it looked a little different than cities in Japan. It was so beautiful. And they have these great signs which tell you how far away you are. We could see Fukuoka! Well...not really...but close!
